It all started with a donut.

Growing up, I always loved drawing. My sister and I used to make these books out of scrap paper. I suppose I was around six or seven at the time, and the books always include three things: bugs, dogs and a jelly bismarck. Today I find it funny, because my sister is published, I just finished illustrating a book with my uncle and I still love a good jelly bismarck.

I think my love of bringing words to life with drawings, as well as my interest in typography and the art of letttering, was really how I found my way into the design field. Oh, and realizing just how amazing "Apple + Z" was.

Today I love finding the idea. I love collaborating with others who have a different skillset — like writers, developers, strategists and analysts. I like to tell the story of why we got to where we did to the client or an internal team. And, I get excited to solve a problem or make something more efficient.

And I still draw. Kind of a lot.
